RECOVERY OF ACID FROM WASTE ACID DISCHARGED FROM THE PICKLING PROCESS USING INDION DIFFUSION DIALYSIS TECHNOLOGY

In pickling process, acid gets contaminated with metal ions. After pickling process, this contaminated acid normally sent to Effluent Treatment Plant. This increases ETP load & also increases OPEX of ETP plant.

To recover acid from waste acid (which is contaminated with metal ions), INDION Diffusion Dialysis system is an effective and proven system.

INDION Diffusion Dialysis system contains series of anion exchange membranes along with series of waste acid compartments & water compartments. Each anion exchange membrane is placed between these two compartments. Waste acid stream (up flow stream) & water stream (down flow) are passed through these compartments. The Anion exchange membrane permeates only acid & rejects metal ions thus acid is recovered in water stream & metal ions remains in reject stream. This recovered acid can be reused.

Thus, INDION Diffusion Dialysis is a very economical method to recover acid & to reduce ETP load as well as ETP operational cost.
